Implementation playbook

How projects run

The exact timing depends on project scope and complexity. This is the process we use on every engagement to move from an idea to a working, maintained system.

01 Discovery

  • - Map the real problem: users, workflows, existing systems, data shape, and constraints
  • - Identify what software should solve and what it should not try to solve
  • - Agree on risk areas: access, data sensitivity, integration dependencies, and launch conditions

02 Scope and design

  • - Define the first useful version — what to build, what to defer, and why
  • - Agree the data model, access tiers, integration points, and delivery milestones
  • - Write a delivery plan that both sides understand and can hold each other to

03 Build and test

  • - Deliver in working pieces — each milestone produces something testable
  • - User testing at each stage, not just at the end
  • - Bugs fixed and scope adjusted before the next milestone begins

04 Launch

  • - Deploy to production with a defined go-live checklist
  • - Handover documentation: architecture, access, runbooks, and known limitations
  • - Support terms activated from the launch date

05 Ongoing

  • - Usage review after the first weeks to catch friction and missing pieces
  • - Prioritised improvement backlog maintained with the client
  • - Changes scoped and priced as they arise — no surprise renegotiations
